GlobalLogic to expand presence in Ireland with Sidero acquisition
GlobalLogic, a Hitachi Group Company and leader in digital engineering, has announced it will acquire Sidero Ltd., a specialist in engineering services and cloud-native software development based in Ireland.
This strategic acquisition, aiming to boost GlobalLogic’s capabilities in the rapidly evolving communications technology sector, will also expand its European footprint in Ireland.
Founded in Athlone in 2013, Sidero Ltd. boasts one of Ireland’s most experienced and accredited teams of Software Engineers and Cloud Experts. Sidero is known for building mission-critical software for various successful Irish and international companies.
The communications industry remains at the forefront of digital transformation, and Sidero’s expertise in technologies like Radio Access Networks (RAN), Self-Optimizing Networks (SON), Cloud, and Agile development practices align well with GlobalLogic’s robust engineering portfolio.
The addition of Sidero’s experienced design and engineering teams, based in Athlone, Republic of Ireland, and Newry, Northern Ireland, will facilitate the creation of innovative solutions that will directly benefit GlobalLogic’s current and future clients.

While the terms of the transaction were not disclosed, the agreement specifies that Sidero will continue to operate with its existing leadership and staff as a wholly-owned subsidiary of GlobalLogic.

The transaction is pending regulatory approval and is anticipated to close in the second half of 2023.
