Pidilite Ventures invests Rs 20cr in educational toy titan Imagimake

Imagimake, renowned for its pioneering range of educational toys, games, and art & hobby products, has secured a notable investment of Rs. 20 Cr from Pidilite Ventures, a key subsidiary of industry giant Pidilite Industries.

Founded in 2019 by Ravi Kumar and Disha Katharani, both illustrious graduates of IIM Mumbai and ISB Hyderabad, Imagimake has carved a niche for itself in the ever-evolving educational toy market.

Commenting on the investment, Sudhanshu Vats, Deputy Managing Director of Pidilite Industries, expressed, “With the shift towards experiential learning, trailblazers like Imagimake stand to gain immensely. Their potential to dominate not just the domestic markets but also make a global impact is undeniable.”

Bolstering a robust portfolio of around 100 SKUs, Imagimake has a sprawling presence with 3,000+ retail touchpoints across India. Additionally, their innovative offerings, backed by multiple patents, have found resonance in over 25 countries, most notably in the U.S.

An elated Ravi Kumar, co-founder of Imagimake, opined, “Having an iconic brand like Pidilite on board amplifies our growth prospects. The synergies we share across the value chain will indeed be pivotal in our expansion journey.”

The company’s flagship series, Mapology, has consistently garnered attention, with the most recent success being the Mission Chandrayan model-making set, celebrating ISRO’s achievements. Their Look What I Made! product line, championing open-ended exploratory play, also continues to gain traction.

Co-founder Disha Katharani elucidated Imagimake’s unique proposition, emphasizing the intertwining of play, learning, and hobby. “We’re wholeheartedly committed to fostering a child’s growth journey by infusing distinctive play mechanisms across our product range,” she said.

With fresh capital in tow, Imagimake is setting its sights on enhancing its production capabilities to cater to burgeoning demand and is poised to launch an array of new products in the forthcoming 18-24 months. Notably, several of their creations are already making waves as bestsellers on top marketplaces.
