Fugro bags IRM ROV services contract from Seamec for ONGC assets in India

Dutch geo-data specialist Fugro has bagged a three-year inspection, repair, and maintenance (IRM) contract from Seamec to support the latter’s asset management project for India’s state-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) off the west coast of India.

Under the contract, Fugro will provide its remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services for Seamec starting from mid-June, with the option of a two-year extension.

The project covers inspection, repair, and maintenance of the offshore assets of ONGC Mumbai, which include processing and wellhead platforms, risers, subsea pipelines, pipeline end manifolds, single point moorings, and single buoy moorings.

Fugro said that its ROV services will support vital inspection, repair, and maintenance activities, which include marine growth removal, cathodic potential, and measurement of the thicknesses of jacket structures and subsea pipelines.

The Dutch geo-data specialist claimed that its ROV is equipped with specialist tools that are effective in water depths in the range of 10m-150m and will be operated by experienced local personnel.

For the past eight years, Fugro has supported Seamec with IRM, positioning, and construction support solutions.

Seamec, which is headquartered in Mumbai, is engaged in providing diving support vessel (DSV)-based diving services.
