Zachry Group is leading the joint venture and has been partnered by McDermott for the Pre-FEED in 2011, and later on, the FEED works to support the early development stage for Trains 1 and 2 of the LNG export project. Chiyoda entered into the joint venture partnership for work associated with Train 3.

The project scope covers three pre-treatment trains, a liquefaction facility made up of three trains, a second loading berth apart from a 165,000 m3 full containment LNG storage tank.

The joint venture said that Train 3 of the Freeport LNG project continues to be on track to maintain its previously announced schedule, with initial production of LNG slated for the first quarter of this year.
