Eviosys invests €8m in can production capacity in Iberian factories
Switzerland-based packaging company Eviosys has invested €8 million to expand the production capacity of two-piece cans in its factories located in Alcochete (Portugal), Murcia, and Ribadumia (Spain). This significant investment comes in response to the rising demand for two-piece and EOE round and irregular cans in the fish, meat, and pet food markets. Eviosys aims to meet this growing need by enhancing production capabilities and offering a reliable, sustainable, and localized packaging solution.
The need for two-piece and EOE cans made of aluminum and steel has been especially notable in the fish, meat, and pet food markets. The fish market alone saw a demand surge of +3.8% in 2022. Working closely with partners in Spain and Portugal, Eviosys has adapted rapidly to consumer trends in these dynamic markets. As the leader in the canned fish segment, Eviosys is taking proactive steps to ensure that businesses in the regions have access to the packaging they need to respond to these market trends.
To facilitate these expanded production capabilities, Eviosys has allocated investment funds toward custom printing and enhanced logistics support. This will enable Eviosys’ customers to grow holistically in terms of both product production and delivery. Tomás Lopez, Chief Executive Officer of Eviosys, emphasized, “Our investment in the region showcases our commitment to our core principle of being a global leader and local partner. In 2023 and beyond, we’ll continue to grow with our partners in the region, supporting them in what is a dynamic, fast-moving market, ensuring they can deliver for their customers.”
The €8 million investment serves to reinforce Eviosys’ leadership in the Iberian Peninsula. As the company continues to grow in 2023, the expanded production capacity will enable Eviosys to continue delivering exceptional service to local customers. This commitment to customer growth and service excellence aligns with the core mission of Eviosys.
