Eiffage Génie Civil to lead construction of EPR2 nuclear reactors in Penly
Eiffage, via its subsidiary Eiffage Génie Civil, has signed a lucrative contract exceeding 4 billion euros with EDF for the primary civil engineering works of the first pair of EPR2-type nuclear power plants at the Penly site.
Details of the Contract and Construction Plans
The tender process, which began in 2019, encompasses the construction of two units, including 69 civil structures. Preparatory works are scheduled to commence in mid-2024, pending administrative approvals. The construction phase will involve building a 70 meters tall dome for reactor buildings containment and a turbine hall, along with a six-level operation building spanning 15,000 m2.

Eiffage is committed to enhancing the local economy, focusing on local jobs and social employment. The project is expected to engage nearly 4,000 workers at its peak, generating 1.3 million working hours of social employment, including opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
