Dollar General, the renowned retail chain, reached a momentous milestone with the grand inauguration of its very first store in Montana. Expressing his enthusiasm, Steve Deckard, Dollar General’s Executive Vice President of Growth and Emerging Markets, remarked, “Today marks an exciting milestone in our history as we extend our ability to provide customers with convenient and affordable access to household essentials throughout all 48 continental states. As America’s general store, we believe each new Dollar General represents positive economic impact, local job opportunities, community donations, and literacy grant opportunities through the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.”

The celebration featured gift cards and complimentary product samples for customers and included a generous $10,000 literacy donation to Ruder Elementary School.

Dollar General is actively engaged in construction projects for stores in Lincoln and Sanders Counties, all of which are expected to open their doors to the public in the fall of 2023. The company is also exploring additional locations within the Treasure State for potential future expansion, further strengthening its presence and commitment to communities across Montana.
