Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. (Nasdaq: CTSH) and Microsoft Corp. have significantly expanded their partnership to integrate Microsoft’s advanced generative AI and Copilots into enterprise operations, enhancing employee experiences and catalyzing innovation across multiple industries. This collaboration aligns with forecasts projecting AI to add up to $1 trillion to the U.S. GDP over the next decade, with a substantial $450–$500 billion boost to India’s GDP by 2025, representing a pivotal 10% of the country’s anticipated $5 trillion GDP.

Under the expanded agreement, Cognizant has acquired 25,000 Microsoft 365 Copilot seats and additional specialized seats for its workforce, aimed at enhancing productivity and transforming customer interactions. Furthermore, Cognizant aims to deploy Microsoft 365 Copilot across its substantial clientele, potentially reaching over a million users globally. This strategic move is supported by Cognizant’s significant investment in training, with 35,000 developers already skilled in GitHub Copilot, and plans to train 40,000 more.

The partnership focuses on delivering tailored solutions to industries that have traditionally been slow to innovate. For instance, generative AI could significantly automate tasks for emergency physicians, potentially speeding up procedural approvals and improving patient care outcomes. Beyond healthcare, Cognizant and Microsoft are developing AI-driven solutions for sectors such as retail, financial services, life sciences, manufacturing, communications, and media.

Cognizant, a member of Microsoft’s Responsible AI Council, is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical AI, focusing on safety, security, privacy, transparency, and inclusion. The company’s ongoing skilling programs are essential in preparing the workforce for the evolving landscape of enterprise AI and ensuring that the adoption of new technologies enhances rather than disrupts employment.
