CNOOC begins production from Bozhong 26-3 oilfield expansion project

Chinese state-owned oil and gas company CNOOC has started production from its 100% owned Bozhong 26-3 oilfield expansion project in the Bohai Sea, China.

The Bozhong 26-3 oilfield expansion project is located in the southern part of the sea. It is contained in an average water depth of nearly 21m.

Apart from fully using the existing processing facilities, the oilfield expansion project has seen the construction of a new unmanned wellhead platform as well as a power platform.

CNOOC is planning to drill a total of eight development wells. These will include five production wells, a couple of water injection wells, and a development and appraisal well.

The Bozhong 26-3 oilfield expansion project is anticipated to achieve its peak production of around 2,670 barrels of crude oil per day this year.
