What is meant by Hypertension?
Hypertension is commonly known as high blood pressure and it is a condition which may be a warning of some other disease. It is not in itself a serious problem and does not have any underlying specific cause.
Types of Hypertension
Hypertension is of three types:
- Functional hypertension
- Essential hypertension
- Chronic hypertension
Symptoms of Hypertension:
- Difficulty in breathing
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Weakness
These symptoms which accompany the high blood pressure can be controlled by the medicines which decreases the pressure, by sedatives or tranquilizers also. In some cases, over weight may be a contributing factor and also change in the diet also leads to hypertension.
More serious types of high blood pressure may be the result of kidney disease, glandular disturbances or diseases of the circulatory system.
Acute symptoms include blurred vision or chronic dizziness. A doctor should be consulted for professional advice and treatment if there are any symptoms of high blood pressure.
