BrightNight chooses Suzlon Group for 100MW wind-solar hybrid venture in Osmanabad

India’s renewable energy giant, Suzlon Group, has clinched a new order to develop a significant 29.4 MW of the total 100 MW wind-solar hybrid project from global renewable power producer, BrightNight. This development in Maharashtra’s Osmanabad region entails Suzlon deploying 14 units of their advanced S120 – 140m wind turbine generators (WTGs), equipped with Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) towers. Set for a phased commissioning, the initial stages will commence from April 2024.

Comprehensive Role for Suzlon

Beyond the initial development, Suzlon is poised to oversee the project through a comprehensive scope of supply, installation, and commissioning. Furthermore, the renewable energy leader will also extend post-commissioning operation and maintenance services, ensuring efficiency and longevity for the project.

Domestic Manufacturing and Aatmanirbhar Bharat

Every turbine manufactured by Suzlon resonates with the Indian government’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ vision, with 80%-90% domestic content. These turbines, integrating the reliable Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) technology, aim to meet grid requirements seamlessly.

BrightNight’s Global Footprint and Vision

Global power producer BrightNight, boasting a massive 38 GW portfolio, recently announced a USD 250 million partnership with ACEN, enhancing its Indian projects portfolio. The 100 MW wind-solar hybrid project in Maharashtra is designed for the C&I customers, promoting greening and energy savings.

BrightNight CEO Martin Hermann remarked, “India is a vibrant market for us. Suzlon’s collaboration will be pivotal for our C&I customers here.”
