The Baltim South West gas field is located in the Baltim South development lease, located in the shallow waters of Nile Delta, and contained in 25m of water depth. The offshore gas field is located 12 km off the Mediterranean coastline and 10km from the producing Nooros gas field.

Contained within the Great Nooros area, the Baltim South West gas field was discovered by Eni in June 2016. A final investment decision (FID) on the Baltim South West project was taken in January 2018.

After the first well BSW 1 has been brought on stream, the offshore Egyptian gas field is now having an initial production rate of 100 million standard cubic feet per day (scf/d). Production is being carried out from the new Baltim South West platform, which via a new 44 km-long pipeline is connected to the existing onshore Abu Madi Gas Plant.
