Azul, one of Latin America’s leading airlines, has disclosed a firm order for four additional A330-900 aircraft from a purchase agreement signed in June 2023. This strategic acquisition aims to expand the airline’s fleet and enhance its international route offerings.

Alexandre Malfitani, Azul’s Chief Financial Officer, highlighted the order’s significance, emphasizing Azul’s status as the airline with the most fuel-efficient fleet in the region. The addition of these aircraft will enable Azul to standardize its international fleet, focusing on enhancing customer experience and on-time performance. The airline currently operates five A330neos and, with this order, will have seven more A330neos, further solidifying its commitment to next-generation aircraft.

The Airbus A330neo, the company’s latest widebody aircraft, is equipped with the latest generation Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines, capable of flying 7,200 nm / 13,300 km non-stop. With over 1,800 firm orders from more than 130 customers, the A330 Family dominates the short-and medium-haul widebody market.
