Arthur J. Gallagher acquires Illinois-based Affiliated Benefit Consultants

Global insurance brokerage Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. has acquired Affiliated Benefit Consultants, an Illinois-based benefits consultant, for an undisclosed price, as per the latest insurance acquisition news.

Headquartered in Oakbrook, Affiliated Benefit Consultants is said to provide a comprehensive suite of benefits consulting services to clients across the country.

Affiliated Benefit Consultants was established in 1986 as a division of Northwestern Mutual, and since then is said to have expanded to 90 offices across the US. The company is engaged in providing expertise in benefits consulting, retirement plan services, compliance management, and executive compensation strategies.

John Araujo and his associates working at the benefits consultancy will continue to operate in their existing location under the direction of Tom Lannen, who heads the Great Lakes region employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations of Arthur J. Gallagher.
