The shooting occurred at the Mad Butcher grocery store in Fordyce, Arkansas, where Gopikrishna was employed. On Friday, June 21, a masked gunman entered the store, opening fire and fatally wounding Gopikrishna who was working at the counter. The attack not only claimed his life but also resulted in the deaths of three others, with nine additional people sustaining injuries.
