Ambuja Cements Limited, a part of the Adani Group, is making a significant leap in sustainable cement production with its commitment to invest Rs. 6,000 crores in renewable power projects. The company aims to achieve a capacity of 1,000 MW, focusing on solar and wind power projects across Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Strategic Investment in Renewable Energy

The investment encompasses a 600 MW Solar Power project and a 150 MW Wind Power project in Gujarat, along with a 250 MW Solar Power project in Rajasthan. By FY 2026, Ambuja aims to supplement its existing 84 MW of Solar & Wind Power with an additional 200 MW by March 2024.

Economic and Environmental Advantages

This move is not just environmentally significant but also promises economic benefits. With the shift to green power, Ambuja expects to reduce its power cost from Rs.6.46 per kWh to Rs.5.16 per kWh, a 20% reduction. This translates into a cost saving of Rs. 90 PMT of cement for the targeted capacity of 140 MTPA by FY 2028.
