Amazon launches AWS Generative AI Innovation Center to foster AI integration

Amazon Web Services (AWS), a subsidiary of Amazon.com, has declared a significant investment of $100 million in its newly launched AWS Generative AI Innovation Center.

The ambitious program is designed to aid customers in building and implementing generative artificial intelligence (AI) solutions. It will leverage the company’s AI and machine learning (ML) expertise to assist global customers in developing innovative generative AI products, services, and processes.

This move is a product of over 25 years of extensive investment in AI technologies and forms a significant part of AWS’s overall generative AI strategy. The aim of AWS Generative AI Innovation Center is to make this technology accessible to customers and partners worldwide, given the rising excitement across industries regarding generative AI’s transformative potential.

The AWS Generative AI Innovation Center comprises a dedicated team of strategists, data scientists, engineers, and solutions architects. Industries such as healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, and financial services can benefit from this initiative by advancing their operations and offerings.

Through complimentary workshops, engagements, and training, AWS will help customers identify high-value use cases for their businesses, rooted in best practices and industry knowledge. Customers will collaborate with AWS generative AI experts and the AWS Partner Network at the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center to select suitable models, define strategies to overcome technical or business challenges, and develop proofs of concepts and scalable solution launch plans.

Key tools and services available through this initiative include AI-powered coding companion Amazon CodeWhisperer, fully managed service Amazon Bedrock, and AI models from AI21 Labs, Anthropic, and Stability AI.

Additionally, customers can leverage high-performance infrastructure like AWS Inferentia-powered Amazon EC2 Inf1 Instances, AWS Trainium-powered Amazon EC2 Trn1 Instances, and Amazon EC2 P5 instances powered by NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs at the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center. They can also utilize Amazon SageMaker or Amazon SageMaker Jumpstart to deploy popular foundational models, including Cohere’s large language models, Technology Innovation Institute’s Falcon 40B, and Hugging Face’s BLOOM.
