Alpha Networks acquires secure video player provider Veygo
Alpha Networks, a Belgium-based software solutions provider for the video distribution market, has acquired Veygo, a French technology company that specializes in delivering a secure player for the video industry.
According to Alpha Networks, it has been collaborating with Veygo for the past five years for deploying projects for operators and media firms in Europe and Latin America (Latam). One of the clients is Argentine cable operator TeleCentro.
Jean-Christophe Perier — Founder of Veygo said: “We’re happy to be part of the Alpha Networks’ Group. The acquisition will enable us to deliver enhanced features and accelerate the deployment of our solution on different regions relying on the global footprint of Alpha Networks and the pre-integration with its products.”
Veygo had developed a secure video player called Veygo Meta_Player, which enables premium live and video-on-demand (VOD) content delivery and playback with multi device HTML5 and native applications. The video player is also said to give intelligent real-time monitoring of the quality of service as well as consumer behaviour.
The Veygo Meta_Player solution is pre-integrated with Tucano, which is the modular video software of Alpha Networks to make the viewer experience compelling.
Apart from ensuring an even better level of monitoring of the streaming platform for the customers of Alpha Networks, the acquisition of Veygo is said to pave the way to the growth of the former’s business in other markets, especially in the US where the Veygo Meta_Player has been deployed already, and in various segments like live event formats.
Guillaume Devezeaux — CEO at Alpha Networks said: “Veygo has been a trusted partner for Alpha Networks, and it has concretely set the benchmark for multi-DRM secure video players, by allowing us to deliver best-in-class solutions to our customers.
“We believe this acquisition will help us reinforce the technological prowess of every component of our video platforms and operating leverage, as we continue to innovate with our products.”
Earlier this month, Alpha Networks had acquired Kinow, a French provider of OTT video platform that serves media companies, content producers and distributors, and sports associations.
