Bharti Airtel, one of India’s largest telecommunications service providers, has significantly upgraded its network across Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Leh Ladakh, to deliver enhanced voice and data services. Following the acquisition of additional spectrum in July 2024, Airtel completed the deployment of 5MHz on the 2100 band and 3.8MHz on the 900 band across all 22 districts, marking a major step in strengthening its 4G and 5G network capabilities. This expansion is expected to dramatically improve browsing speeds, indoor coverage, and overall customer experience in both urban and rural areas.

The recent spectrum acquisition, part of a broader strategic vision, has further strengthened Airtel’s competitive advantage. The company now holds a larger share of mid-band spectrum, positioning it well to accommodate the rapid growth in data consumption across India. Airtel’s acquisition of 97 MHz of spectrum during the latest auctions has also helped consolidate its fragmented spectrum blocks, ensuring a more efficient network and higher quality services.

Bharti Airtel’s approach involves not only expanding its 4G/5G network but also re-farming mid-band spectrum for 5G services to keep up with India’s accelerating data consumption.
