Accenture launches Generative AI studios across Asia Pacific and Latin America
Accenture [NYSE: ACN], a global professional services company, is poised to transform the generative AI landscape. The company announced the establishment of generative AI studios in nine countries across Asia Pacific and Latin America, responding to the burgeoning interest in AI technology among clients.
Strategic Expansion Across Key Markets
The new studios will be set up in Australia, Argentina, Brazil, Greater China, India, Japan, Mexico, Philippines, and Singapore. These studios aim to connect clients with data and AI experts from Accenture, along with ecosystem partners, ventures, and other strategic investments. This initiative allows for rapid experimentation, co-creation, and scaling of generative AI solutions, all grounded in Accenture’s responsible AI framework.

According to Leo Framil, CEO of Accenture Growth Markets, the move comes as clients are shifting from proof-of-concept stages to full-scale production to address complex business challenges. Framil emphasized the unique risks associated with generative AI, noting that the studios will leverage Accenture’s experience, talent, and industry partnerships to develop bespoke solutions.

Increasing Investment in AI
An Accenture survey highlights a significant trend: 77% of C-suite executives in the Asia Pacific and 84% in Latin America plan to increase their AI-related spending in 2024. This shift indicates a move towards customizing foundation models with proprietary data.
Vivek Luthra, Data and AI lead for Accenture Growth Markets, pointed out the importance of a robust data strategy, modern cloud and ERP infrastructure, and mature data and AI capabilities. The generative AI Studios are set to enhance Accenture’s existing data and AI investments, providing a comprehensive range of capabilities to clients.
Specialized Industry Focus
Each studio will cater to diverse industry and functional needs, specializing in sectors such as banking, insurance, telecommunications, public sector, manufacturing, renewable energy, chemicals, and mining. The studios are scheduled to be operational in January 2024, with Argentina and Mexico joining later this year.

These studios are integral to Accenture’s $3 billion investment in data and AI. The company has also recently announced the launch of specialized services to help clients develop their own large language models, tailored to specific business needs.
