Accenture and SandboxAQ boost data encryption with new risk assessment service
In a strategic move to bolster enterprise data security, Accenture and SandboxAQ have announced an expanded partnership focused on enhancing data encryption and safeguarding against emerging threats. This collaboration aims to provide robust protection against both current data breaches and future risks posed by artificial intelligence and quantum computing advancements.
A New Era of Encryption Risk Management
Accenture and SandboxAQ’s enhanced partnership will introduce a groundbreaking Encryption Risk Assessment service, integrating SandboxAQ’s AQtive Guard technology. This service is designed to offer deep visibility into vulnerabilities related to weak cryptography before these risks can compromise critical data across networks, file systems, and cloud applications.
Recent research by Accenture reveals that 52% of CEOs view the rapid pace of technological innovation as a significant risk for cyberattacks. Furthermore, 86% of CEOs consider cyber trust and resilience in emerging technologies, such as generative AI and quantum computing, crucial for their organizations. This research underscores the importance of advanced cryptography management, which is essential for defending against evolving cyber threats.
Strengthening Data Protection Amidst Growing Threats
Accenture’s global lead of security, Paolo Dal Cin, emphasized the urgent need for robust data protection measures. He noted that the prevalence of generative AI and the forthcoming global post-quantum encryption standards make data security critical for protecting confidential business information. Dal Cin pointed out that malicious actors are currently stealing sensitive data with the expectation of decrypting it later using future quantum computers capable of breaking many current encryption methods.
The new Encryption Risk Assessment service aims to identify risks in various areas, including the management of cryptographic assets like digital certificates and cryptographic keys, the usage of cryptographic algorithms (both symmetric and public key), and other cryptographic constructs such as hash functions. By integrating this assessment with existing data security and privacy policies, companies can receive prioritized recommendations for remediation, enabling them to act swiftly and effectively against advanced threats.
Enhancing Observability and Enterprise Resilience
Jack Hidary, CEO of SandboxAQ, highlighted the importance of their continued collaboration with Accenture in defending against advanced AI-driven cybersecurity attacks. He pointed out that the recent global outage resulting from a single software update underscores the need for improved observability across enterprises. By enhancing cryptographic defenses, businesses can better protect their sensitive data and prepare for future threats.
The partnership between Accenture and SandboxAQ represents a significant step towards fortifying enterprise data security in an era of rapid technological advancement and evolving cyber threats. Organizations that leverage these new tools and services will be better equipped to handle current and future risks, ensuring robust protection of their most critical data.
