Schlumberger opens new AI center in Oslo, Norway

Schlumberger, a US-based oilfield services company, has opened a new artificial intelligence (AI) center in Oslo, Norway to expand its global INNOVATION FACTORI network.

According to Schlumberger, its customers will get access at the new center to a powerful machine learning platform with market leading capabilities in AI.

Schlumberger, through its partnership with Dataiku, expects to help its customers make use of a single, centralized platform for designing, deploying, governing, and managing AI as well as for analytics applications.

The company’s expansion of its INNOVATION FACTORI network follows the inauguration of a couple of AI centers in the Americas — one in Rio, Brazil, and another which was recently opened in Houston.

The AI centers of Schlumberger are said to complement the worldwide network of experts in Abu Dhabi, Kuala Lumpur, and Beijing.
