RoxWind wind farm : Greenbacker begins operation of Maine project
Greenbacker Renewable Energy revealed that the 15.3MW RoxWind wind farm in Maine has started commercial operation.
Located in Roxbury, the RoxWind project is estimated to generate close to 50,300 MWh of clean energy per year, which is enough to power around 4,500 homes per year.
The wind farm, which comprises four turbines, each of more than 3.8MW, had involved around 80 people for its construction.
It was acquired in 2020 by Greenbacker Renewable Energy as a to-be-constructed project. The RoxWind wind farm marked the first asset for the infrastructure company in Maine.

Developed originally by Palmer Capital, the RoxWind project broke ground in 2020. Currently, it produces renewable energy for four investment-grade municipal utilities through long-term offtake agreements.
