NTPC fully commissions 1.6GW Darlipali Super Thermal Power Project

Indian energy conglomerate NTPC Limited said that Unit 2 of the 1.6GW Darlipali Super Thermal Power Project in Odisha has successfully wrapped up its trial operation.

As a result, the Darlipali power plant has been included in the installed capacity of NTPC, which is now 53.45GW, while that of the NTPC group is 66.87GW.

The Darlipali Super Thermal Power Project comprises two units, each of 800MW capacity.

NTPC had announced the supercritical coal-based thermal power project in late 2017. The coal-fired power project is located at a village called Darlipali in Sundargarh district.

In April 2021, NTPC had wrapped up the trial operation of Unit 2 of the 1.32GW Tanda Super Thermal Power Station Stage-II in Uttar Pradesh.
