The RISE Group, Inc., a prominent employee-owned provider of energy, engineering, laboratory, and field services, has acquired DG Service Company. This move is a strategic effort to strengthen its mechanical, HVAC, and refrigeration contracting capabilities across the New England region.

Founded in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts, DG Service Company is a well-regarded firm with 28 employees, known for its comprehensive service in heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. With over 25 years of experience, the company has increasingly focused on heat pump technology, serving both commercial and residential clients throughout southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod. Grace Knox, co-founder of DG Service, will continue to lead the firm under The RISE Group’s umbrella.

Grace Knox expressed her enthusiasm about the acquisition, stating, “Our long-time customer base continues to look to us to help them meet the challenges of our time. Teaming with RISE provides us with a well-known organization that shares our common values and places customers first. Joining an employee-owned company also safeguards the long-term interests of our staff and their families who have contributed so much to our firm’s success.”

Vin Graziano, CEO of The RISE Group, highlighted the strategic benefits of the acquisition, saying, “DG Service offers us some critical advantages, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to the RISE Group family. DG’s stellar reputation, its highly qualified staff, and its continuing focus on new technologies make it an ideal addition that enables us to directly deliver even more cost-effective energy solutions.”

This acquisition aligns with The RISE Group’s ongoing strategy to enhance its mechanical and HVAC contracting services, a journey that began seven years ago with the purchase of Coldmasters, an HVAC and refrigeration contractor based in Rhode Island. The RISE Group’s portfolio now includes Holden Mechanical, which serves advanced industries in central Massachusetts, and AirMasters, known for its specialized control and HVAC project installation services in southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.

Vin Graziano further noted, “As Massachusetts continues its nation-leading efforts to meet aggressive climate goals, RISE continues to play a major role in bringing cost-effective HVAC and mechanical services on behalf of program sponsors in the region, including National Grid, Eversource, and Cape Light Compact. DG’s extensive capability to service residential customers is a significant advancement for The RISE Group. It enhances our ability to offer comprehensive energy solutions, resulting in cost savings and increased convenience for homeowners in southeastern Massachusetts and Cape Cod.”
