World Insurance Associates acquires New Jersey-based Szerlip & Co.
World Insurance Associates (WIA), a US insurance brokerage, has acquired Szerlip & Company, based in Millburn, New Jersey, for an undisclosed price.
Szerlip & Co. is an insurance agency, which was established in 1934 by Herbert Szerlip.
Currently, the company has operations across 40 states in the US.
Szerlip & Co. is said to have expertise in personal, commercial, security guard, not for profit, and life/health insurance.

For the transaction, World Insurance Associates had engaged Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla as legal counsel, while Alvarez & Marsal was its advisor.
On the other hand, Greenberg Traurig served as legal counsel to Szerlip & Co.
