Wiwynn, a provider of cloud IT infrastructure for hyperscale data centers, has unveiled an impressive suite of AI data center solutions and cutting-edge liquid cooling technologies at the Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit 2024. The showcase, which takes place from October 15 to 17 at the San Jose Convention Center, highlights Wiwynn’s focus on enhancing both performance and sustainability for AI-driven data centers.

The unveiling comes at a crucial time, as the high power demands of artificial intelligence are pushing the limits of data centers worldwide. According to William Lin, President of Wiwynn, the growing complexity of AI technologies necessitates a balance between performance and sustainability. He stated that Wiwynn is excited to present its comprehensive AI solutions and advanced cooling technologies at this year’s OCP Global Summit, with a focus on demonstrating how these innovations can provide unprecedented efficiency and performance while unlocking new possibilities in the AI era.

Boosting data center capabilities with NVIDIA acceleration

To drive innovation in AI, Wiwynn has strengthened its partnership with Wistron Corporation, delivering advanced AI acceleration platforms leveraging state-of-the-art chips such as the NVIDIA GB200 Grace Blackwell Superchip. One of the most notable solutions is the NVIDIA GB200 NVL72 Rack Solution, one of the first of its kind on the market. This solution aims to supercharge training and inference for trillion-parameter AI models while providing a 25-fold reduction in total cost of ownership compared to previous GPU generations.

The GB200 NVL72 solution integrates fifth-generation NVIDIA NVLink and NVLink Switch technologies to connect 72 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and 36 NVIDIA Grace CPUs within a single liquid-cooled rack, enabling powerful AI acceleration with greater efficiency. Additionally, Wiwynn is expanding its AI capabilities on the NVIDIA HGX platform with notable solutions such as the GS1400A and GS1300N servers. The GS1400A integrates eight NVIDIA H200 Tensor Core GPUs, while the compact GS1300N offers support for eight NVIDIA Hopper or Blackwell architecture GPUs and achieves more than 90% heat dissipation with Wiwynn’s Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) technology.

Leading-edge liquid cooling technologies for the future

Wiwynn is also unveiling its next-generation liquid cooling technologies at the Summit, designed to tackle the thermal challenges posed by increasingly powerful AI workloads. The company, in collaboration with ZutaCore, is introducing a two-phase liquid cooling solution capable of delivering up to 2.5 kW thermal design power for individual chips. This cutting-edge cooling technology will be featured in the OCP Future Technologies Symposium.

Moreover, Wiwynn will demonstrate a validated two-phase immersion cooling solution, capable of achieving a thermal design power of 2.8 kW—a key innovation that meets the anticipated demands of future AI data centers. Partnering with Intel, Wiwynn will also introduce the Open IP SuperFluid Cooling technology, an advanced system that addresses a major roadblock for DLC by replacing water with a dielectric fluid. This solution not only prevents the risk of water leakage but also protects electric circuits and ensures a cooling capacity of 1.5 kW in a single-phase configuration.

Expert opinions on Wiwynn’s innovations

Industry experts have noted that Wiwynn’s efforts are positioning them as a significant player in the data center market, particularly in the field of AI acceleration and cooling technologies. Data center consultant John Smith mentioned that the combination of NVIDIA’s AI processing power and Wiwynn’s advanced cooling systems is likely to set a new benchmark for efficiency and performance in hyperscale data centers. He emphasized that innovations like the two-phase immersion cooling solution demonstrate Wiwynn’s proactive approach to addressing the power and cooling demands of future AI workloads.
