Wipro to ramp up investment in Norway, expand workforce to 350 people

Wipro said that it is ramping up its investment in Norway locally for helping its clients capitalize on digital transformation and in the process quadruple the number of employees it has in the country.

In the next couple of years, the Indian IT services provider plans to expand its workforce in Norway from 85 to 350.

Vinay Firake — Senior Vice President and Managing Director, Nordics, Wipro said: “The increased local investment is part of our new operating model, which has identified the Nordics as one of the Strategic Market Units in Europe. As such, we are positioning ourselves as an innovation partner to businesses in the region.”

Wipro revealed that the plan behind the new operating model is for empowering local management to offer more in-depth local contact, decision making, and investment for the long-term benefit of clients in Norway.

The company said that currently, it has a 95% locally recruited workforce in Norway.
