Wipro, an Indian technology services and consulting company, has officially opened a new office at Sable Park, Century City, in Cape Town, South Africa.

The inauguration was graced by key dignitaries including Alderman James Vos, Mayoral Committee Member – Economic Growth, City of Cape Town, representatives from the Indian Consulate in Cape Town and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), along with Wipro’s clients, tech partners and local employees.

Cape Town, with its R14 billion contribution to the metro’s economy in 2021 via the international BPO market, is growing as a sought-after destination for technology and BPO companies. The city is progressively investing in skill development and promotional campaigns to bolster its attractive business environment.

Africa plays a significant role in Wipro’s APMEA Strategic Market Unit, being one of the six focal regions. The company has been operating in Africa since 2007, assisting enterprises and public sectors in accelerating their digital transformation and enhancing their global competitiveness. The new Cape Town office reaffirms Wipro’s steadfast commitment towards the local communities.
