Wipro Q1 FY2022 results : Indian IT firm registers 35.2% jump in net income to Rs 32.3bn

Wipro Q1 FY2022 results : Wipro has reported a net income of INR 32.3 billion ($434.8 million) for the first quarter of the fiscal year 2022 (Q1 FY2022) that ended 30 June 2021, which is a 35.2% increase compared to INR 24.1 billion ($320 million) reported in Q1 FY2021.

In the previous quarter, that is Q4 FY2021, Wipro had a net income of INR 29.7 billion ($406.4 million).

The Indian IT services provider registered an increase of 41% year-over-year (YoY) in earnings per share in the reported quarter at INR 5.92 ($0.08).

Wipro Q1 FY2022 gross revenue was INR 182.5 billion ($2.5 billion), which is a YoY increase of 22.4%. In Q4 FY2021, Wipro’s gross revenue was INR 162.5 billion ($2.2 billion).

As per Wipro Q1 FY2022 results, the company’s IT services unit posted revenue of $2.41 billion in Q1 FY2022, which is a 25.7% increase YoY.

Thierry Delaporte – CEO and Managing Director of Wipro, commenting on Wipro Q1 FY2022 results, said: “Despite the severe onslaught of the pandemic, we delivered our best-ever quarter, with secular growth across all SMUs, Sectors and GBLs. Our sequential revenue growth of 12.2% was well ahead of the top-end of our guidance range, both organically and with Capco.
