Wipro partners with Apptio to create tech business management practice
Indian IT services company Wipro Limited said that it will launch a technology business management (TBM) practice as part of its strategic relationship with Apptio, a provider of TBM solutions that enable businesses in analyzing, streamlining, and planning technology spend.
According to Wipro, technology business management equips technology executives with useful insights, data, and standards to convey the cost, quality, and worth of technology investments to business partners. It is said to be an integral part of any business plan and enables IT to transform into a services organization.
Dave Scholtz — Apptio Global Partner Strategy and Operations Vice President said: “Apptio’s TBM consulting partners help businesses define strategy and vision while enabling organizations to codify TBM as part of their day-to-day operating model. Successful TBM initiatives require full buy-in from change leadership, as well as a commitment from all IT leaders.
“We’re thrilled to work with Wipro as it expands its TBM focus and capabilities, creating more value for our joint customers.”
Wipro stated that IT as a Services Organization (ITaaSO) is a brand new operating model that is based on an enterprise’s unique use of technologies or infrastructure, and focused on providing value at a reasonable cost.
The Indian IT firm will work with Apptio to assist clients’ digital transformation using the latter’s three products — ApptioOne, Cloudability, and Targetprocess SaaS. The suite will provide relevant information to firms on their investments in technology to help guide business decisions and drive innovations across their organizations.
David Kenner — Wipro GM and Global Head of CIO Advisory said: “As part of Wipro’s CIO Advisory practice, our comprehensive range of TBM services will go beyond technology rollouts, cloud or digital-transformation initiatives.
“We view TBM as a fundamental part of the organization’s DNA across the entire IT operating model, equipping the CIO and IT teams to operate as effectively as possible with the IT as a Services Organization model.”
