Lumos launches fiber optic internet expansion in Spartanburg with $1.2m grant support

By extending its 100% Fiber Optic network into unserved and underserved neighborhoods, Lumos aims to provide residents with reliable, high-speed internet service essential for telecommuting, remote learning, telehealth appointments, streaming, gaming, and more.
David Britt, Vice Chairman of the Spartanburg County Council and Chairman of the Economic Development Committee, expressed gratitude for Lumos’ investment, noting its significance for business and residential connectivity, particularly in under and unserved communities. “Having this new infrastructure in our community will make us stronger and more successful,” Britt remarked, anticipating a lasting partnership with Lumos.
Demonstrating its commitment to community development, Lumos announced a $5,000 donation to the Southeastern Children’s Home for a technology tutor, underscoring the company’s active corporate citizenship and dedication to preparing Spartanburg’s youth for the future.
