Wipro leverages cloud car platform to advance FORVIA’s driver assistance technology

In a pioneering collaboration, Wipro Limited has optimized FORVIA’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), marking a significant stride for the automotive technology supplier, ranked the seventh-largest globally. This partnership enabled FORVIA to use Wipro Engineering Edge’s Cloud Car platform, enhancing vehicle safety and user comfort through advanced microservices and containerized architecture.

Seamless Integration of ADAS with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM)

FORVIA’s ADAS applications now operate on a hardware-independent, cloud-native framework, making integration with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) smoother and lowering maintenance costs. Leveraging microservices in its Cloud Car architecture, Wipro has enabled FORVIA to embed ADAS features directly into OEM value chains, creating a versatile, continuously updatable environment for FORVIA’s safety and comfort technologies.

3D Surround-View Technology Elevates Safety Standards

Among the major advancements is FORVIA’s innovative surround-view technology, an immersive 3D interface developed for safer and more intuitive parking. By consolidating camera feeds into a 3D view, drivers gain a comprehensive perspective, enhancing parking ease and safety. This innovation underlines the potential for sophisticated ADAS features to reduce accident risk and bolster driver awareness, showcasing the impact of advanced driver-assistance technologies.

Microservices and Cost-Efficiency Transform ADAS Deployment

The project has transitioned FORVIA’s ADAS applications to a flexible, service-oriented microservice architecture. This shift allows FORVIA to market ADAS functions individually and facilitates integration with third-party or OEM ADAS features, providing adaptability for FORVIA’s clients. The microservices model has also lowered the software development lifecycle (SDLC) costs, strengthening FORVIA’s position in a competitive automotive tech landscape and offering broader monetization avenues through componentized ADAS offerings.
