Consumer goods manufacturer Unilever has agreed to sell its Chilean ice cream business to Carozzi, a local food product manufacturer, for an undisclosed price.
The sale includes Chilean ice cream brands Bresler and Melevi and the license for the global ice cream brands that Unilever retails in Chile, which include Magnum, Calippo, Vienetta, Fruttare, Carte D’or, and Cornetto.
Unilever said that in Chile, it will continue to concentrate on the categories and brands in which it can develop a sustainable and competitive business.
The sale of the Chilean ice cream business is subject to certain conditions and is expected to be wrapped up in the first half of July or later, said Unilever.
