UltraTech Cement begins mining from Bicharpur coal mines

UltraTech Cement Limited said that it has started mining coal from its Bicharpur coal mines in Madhya Pradesh, India.

The Indian cement manufacturing company said that the coal drawn from the Bicharpur mines for its internal consumption. UltraTech Cement expects the development to cut down its dependence on coal purchases to some extent.

The company added that procuring coal in any form is part of its routine daily operations.

The Bicharpur coal mines were awarded to UltraTech Cement during the coal block auctions held in the year 2015. The mines have extractable reserves of around 29MMT.
