Accenture Federal Services has secured a significant task order valued at up to $1.6 billion from the U.S. Air Force to enhance and scale its Cloud One multi-cloud environment. This initiative, the first of three follow-up contracts to the Air Force’s initial Cloud One agreement, aims to consolidate multi-cloud and multi-vendor services, positioning Cloud One as a streamlined, modern cloud service platform.
Under the agreement, Accenture Federal Services will act as the managed service provider, overseeing cloud account management and providing enterprise-scale software support essential to Cloud One’s modernization. The company will leverage its proprietary CloudTracker tool to deliver automated financial management (FinOps) capabilities. This tool aims to provide the Air Force with real-time cost transparency, boost cost savings, and ensure agility in multi-cloud operations.
Justin Shirk, Accenture Federal Services’ managing director for Mission Operations and Cloud Ecosystems, noted the strategic importance of this task order. Shirk stated that their expertise in cloud transformation, combined with embedded FinOps capabilities, will help the Air Force optimize its cloud infrastructure and support Cloud One’s long-term objectives.
Accenture Federal Services will also provide multi-cloud billing and account management services. Ryan Fairchild, managing director of Enterprise Digital Intelligence Domain at Accenture Federal Services, emphasized that maximizing cloud efficiencies translates into substantial cost benefits for federal clients and enhances agility within the Defense Industrial Base. Fairchild highlighted that the company’s solutions would help create a robust, adaptive cloud ecosystem tailored to the complexities of modern IT requirements.
The Cloud One support contract will extend over five years and three months, ensuring consistent, high-level service and advancements.
