Norwegian Energy Company (Noreco) has completed the final offshore lifting campaign of the Tyra Redevelopment Project, which is being taken up by the Danish Underground Consortium in the Danish North Sea.
All major offshore lifts for Tyra redevelopment have been finished after Heerema Marine Contractors’ Sleipnir semi-submersible crane vessel lifted in place the two remaining bridges and flare tower, following the lifting and installation of the process module (the TEG) on 4 October.
The offshore team will now carry out the welding work to connect the TEG to the installations already in place. Later, the team will focus on the remaining hook-up and commissioning.
Marianne Eide — Noreco CEO, commenting on the Tyra Redevelopment Project milestone, said: “We are proud to announce that the final offshore lifts of Tyra II have been safely completed, ahead of time.
“The offshore lifts have been executed during a period where weather conditions in the North Sea can be challenging, and I’m impressed by the timing and execution by the offshore teams from TotalEnergies and Heerema.
“During times when energy security is critical, the importance of Tyra II cannot be overstated. The reinvigorated facilities provide a state-of-the-art gas processing infrastructure that will unlock further development of the DUC’s material discovered resource portfolio at a substantially lower emissions intensity. This is a strategic step in unlocking a valuable and important future for the DUC.”
The Tyra Redevelopment Project is aimed at creating high-tech production and export center to deliver sufficient gas supply to the equivalent of 1.5 million Danish homes.
Upon expected completion in 2022, the new Tyra platform will have approximately 60,000 barrels of oil equivalent (boe) per day.
The Danish Underground Consortium partners are TotalEnergies (43.2%), Noreco (36.8%), and Nordsøfonden (20%).
