TVS unveils RT-XD4 engine: A game-changer in motorcycle engineering

The unveiling took place during Day 1 of TVS MotoSoul 4.0, a premier event celebrating creativity, innovation, and racing-inspired performance. With its new RT-XD4 engine platform, TVS Motor Company promises to revolutionise the riding experience by combining power, precision, and sustainability.

Sudarshan Venu, Managing Director of TVS Motor Company, described the RT-XD4 engine as a culmination of decades of racing expertise and cutting-edge research. Developed at TVS Motor Company’s R&D Centre in Hosur, the platform showcases the company’s dedication to innovation. The RT-XD4 engine platform is expected to become a benchmark for motorcycle engineering excellence.

The RT-XD4 engine platform introduces multiple advanced technologies, ensuring racing-inspired performance. It incorporates a dual cooling system, ride-by-wire throttle, and a dual oil pump, delivering unmatched efficiency and all-range torque. These features, combined with TVS Motor Company’s racing legacy, make the RT-XD4 platform a game-changer in the industry.

The first engine on the RT-XD4 platform, the TVS RT-XD4 300, boasts a 299.1 cc displacement, 35 PS power output at 9,000 rpm, and 28.5 Nm torque at 7,000 rpm. The engine also supports ethanol-blended fuels, reflecting TVS Motor Company’s commitment to sustainability. Its state-of-the-art plasma spray coating and dual breather system further enhance performance, making it a cornerstone of motorcycle engineering excellence.

MotoSoul 4.0 Highlights

TVS MotoSoul 4.0 was a grand celebration of creativity and camaraderie. Custom motorcycle builds, such as the TVS Apache RTR 310 and TVS Ronin, took centre stage, reflecting TVS Motor Company’s emphasis on unique designs and racing-inspired performance. Collaborations with Smoked Garage and the TVS Motor factory team brought innovative creations to life.

The event also featured a record-breaking achievement by riders Syed Asif Ali and Shamin Khan, who completed a 6,300-kilometre journey on the Golden Quadrilateral aboard a TVS NTORQ. Their feat was recognised by the Asia Book of Records, demonstrating the durability and engineering excellence of TVS Motor Company’s products.
