TVS Motor, BMW Motorrad expand partnership for EVs and other future tech
TVS Motor Company said that it is extending and expanding its long-term partnership with BMW Motorrad by jointly developing new platforms for future technologies and electric vehicles (EVs).
The scope of TVS Motor Company in the partnership will cover the design and development of future products of BMW Motorrad and delivering supply chain management and industrialization.
Under the extended cooperation, both the firms are said to have identified a variety of products and technologies to drive considerable business benefits.
TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad have agreed to develop common platforms by mutually leveraging the emerging technologies in the future mobility space by taking into account the global needs of customer segments in multiple markets.
Exclusive products for both the automobile companies will be developed on the common platforms, and partners will retail their products around the world.
The first product through the partnership is planned to be unveiled in the next 24 months.

TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad had entered into a partnership in 2013 with an aim to manufacture sub-500cc motorcycles. The partnership has led to three products on the 310cc platform, which include the BMW G 310 R, BMW 310 GS, and the TVS Apache RR 310.
