Thermax bags Rs 545.6cr order from public sector firm for two FGD systems

Thermax Limited said that it has bagged an order worth INR 545.6 crores from an Indian public sector power company to install flue gas desulphurization systems (FGD systems) for two 500MW coal-fired power units in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the Pune-based engineering company, the FGD systems will be installed at the thermal power plant to reduce emissions of sulphur oxide (Sox) apart from adhering to the air quality standards set for the two units.

This is the second order for flue gas desulphurization systems in the current financial year for Thermax Limited.

“In addition to supporting the customer in meeting statutory compliance related to industrial pollution norms, the project reinforces our commitment to the environment.”

The scope of supply for Thermax Limited includes design, engineering, manufacturing, civil work, construction, and commissioning of the FGD systems. The project is scheduled to be executed in 30 months.
