TCS rolls out new version of TransformPlus automaton product

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) said that it has rolled out TransformPlus 5.0, a major new version of TCS MasterCraft TransformPlus, which utilizes machine learning (ML) algorithms to analyze applications more effectively during the modernization journey of enterprises.

According to the Indian IT services provider, the latest version of the cognitive transformation platform enriches user annotation in program flow as well as technical specification documentation during the analysis of COBOL applications.

TCS MasterCraft TransformPlus is said to be an intelligent automation product that considerably expedites end-to-end application modernization, which includes mainframe modernizations. The automation product is said to support a wide variety of legacy and modern programming languages.

According to Tata Consultancy Services, the industry-agnostic solution analyzes legacy code, extracts business rules, and subsequently documents them in standard templates.

Through auto-generation of cloud-ready code in microservices architecture based on user-fed specifications, TransformPlus is said to build new application components. It moves legacy applications to the cloud via automated remediation and refactoring.

Besides, TransformPlus automates the transformation of enterprise data from legacy to new-age databases.

Tata Consultancy Services said that TransformPlus 5.0 can more effectively reverse engineer legacy application codes. With the latest version, users can now document job and program details more accurately for COBOL applications and sub-systems, including process flow, dependent systems, record structure, file layout and database details.

Users can view the document within the product or download it for ongoing maintenance and for future modernizations as well. The automation is said to substantially boost productivity in documentation.

Additionally, TransformPlus 5.0 helps customers in automating the conversion of JCL batch component statements to equivalent Java Spring batch statements.

Recently, Tata Consultancy Services had launched Google Garages at its TCS Pace Port co-innovation and advanced research centers in New York, Amsterdam, and Tokyo.
