In a landmark move, Tata Technologies, a leading global provider of engineering and product development digital services, has entered into a five-year Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with the Government of Telangana. This strategic partnership, valued at INR 2324 crores, aims to modernize 65 government-owned Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across Telangana. The initiative is designed to transform these ITIs into state-of-the-art Skill Development Centers, thereby significantly enhancing the employability and technical proficiency of students. This collaboration underscores Tata Technologies’ commitment to supporting high social impact projects and aligns with the Telangana Government’s mission to boost the availability of skilled talent and attract industrial investments.
Telangana’s focus on skill development initiatives plays a crucial role in empowering its diverse workforce, further supporting the manufacturing and MSME industries within the state. By integrating 20 global industry partners in the upgradation process, Tata Technologies ensures that the ITIs will offer comprehensive courses catering to Industry 4.0 demands. This includes 8 long-term courses and 23 short-term courses, with an anticipated annual training capacity of over 9,000 and 1,00,000 students, respectively, upon reaching full operational status. The curriculum spans various sectors including Advanced Manufacturing, Product Design, 3D Printing, and much more, preparing students for the dynamic demands of the industry.
The MOA signing event was graced by notable dignitaries including the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, and executives from Tata Technologies. Their speeches highlighted the mutual enthusiasm and commitment towards creating a skilled workforce ready to meet the challenges of tomorrow’s industries.
The Hon’ble Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, expressed delight over the collaboration, stating, “We’re delighted to collaborate with Tata Technologies for the transformation of ITIs into Skill Development Centers that will provide training on in-demand skills leading to better employment opportunities for the local youth.” Warren Harris, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Technologies, remarked on the importance of this partnership in preparing the youth for industry 4.0 challenges, highlighting the company’s expertise in product engineering and manufacturing.
I. Rani Kumudini, IAS, and Pawan Bhageria, President of Global HR, IT Admin and Education at Tata Technologies, also shared insights into the goals of the collaboration, emphasizing the creation of job opportunities and the provision of up-to-date technological skills to the youth of Telangana.
