Tata Steel dispatches maiden consignment of Tata Aggreto steel slag
Tata Steel said that it has dispatched the maiden consignment of its branded steel slag aggregates Tata Aggreto to Border Roads Organisation (BRO) for road construction work under Project Arunank in Arunachal Pradesh.
The Indian steelmaking company said that its industrial by-products management unit will be supplying around 1,200 tonnes of processed steel slag aggregates to the BRO project.
Tata Steel claimed that the success of the initiative will open new opportunities for sustainable usage of its Steel Slag Aggregates for constructing roads near border areas.
Along with Tata Nirman, Tata Aggreto is a processed steel slag aggregate, which is intended to be used for replacing natural aggregates to construct roads. Steel slag enhances durability and brings down the cost of laying roads, while also encouraging circular economy, said Tata Steel.
Uttam Singh — Tata Steel Iron Making Vice President said: “The slag we are now sending to BRO for building roads in Arunachal Pradesh is a great example of how circular economy works at Tata Steel. We are committed to deliver sustainable products having minimal ecological footprint by adopting newer technologies and developing new products & applications.”
