Tata Power Solar Systems Limited (TPSSL), a leading integrated solar company in India and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), has marked a significant milestone by commissioning India’s largest Solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) project. Located in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, this groundbreaking project includes a 100 MW Solar PV Project coupled with a 120 MWh Utility Scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), showcasing Tata Power’s commitment to advancing renewable energy infrastructure in India.

Awarded to TPSSL by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) in December 2021 on an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis, the project carried a deal price of ₹945 crore. Tata Power Solar was entrusted with a comprehensive range of responsibilities, from engineering and design to supply, construction, erection, testing, operations & maintenance, and commissioning of the project. Despite challenges such as unsuitable soil conditions and remote location, TPSSL’s team leveraged its exceptional engineering prowess to deliver the project within the stipulated timeframe, employing cutting-edge Bifacial Mono Crystalline technology across 239,685 modules.
