Tata Motors surpasses 100,000 EV milestone, reinforces India’s green mobility vision
Tata Motors, India‘s vanguard in automobile manufacturing and the catalyst behind the nation’s electric vehicle (EV) uprising, proclaimed today its triumphant attainment of 100,000 Tata EVs on the road. Embarking on this transformative journey three years ago, Tata’s stride from the initial 10,000 to 100,000 EVs saw an accelerating pace, with the most recent half being achieved in a mere nine months. This accelerated growth delineates Tata Motors‘ steadfast pledge to fostering a sustainable future and advancing India’s green mobility. Marking this pivotal milestone, a resplendent drone show painted the skies, epitomizing the realization of Tata’s ambitious vision.
Shailesh Chandra, the helm at Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd., remarked, “This pivotal 100,000 Tata EVs benchmark not only amplifies our conviction in electrification but also underscores our role in steering India towards a carbon-neutral future. Our heartfelt gratitude extends to our EV patrons, the Indian government, our investors, and the integrated Tata uniEVerse Ecosystem entities for their relentless support. In unison, we’re propelling India into an era of sustainable mobility.”
He further elaborated, “Such exponential growth heralds the burgeoning EV ecosystem in India, instilling confidence among consumers, suppliers, charging infrastructure entities, and investors alike. This swift momentum is poised to spawn significant employment opportunities across diverse workforce categories, emphasizing newer technologies. Concurrently, it promises improved air quality, reduced oil dependencies, and positions India as a pivotal hub for EV and its component manufacturing. We are invigorated by this journey and anticipate many more landmarks ahead.”
Illustrating the monumental impact of Tata’s EV initiative, these vehicles have traversed a staggering 1.4 billion kilometers, equating to three round trips to the sun. In addition, these eco-friendly journeys have averted a whopping 2,19,432 tons of CO2 emissions. Financially, the Tata EV fraternity has amassed savings approximating INR 7 billion on fuel expenditures, underscoring the economical and sustainable prowess of electric mobility.
Gearing up for an electrified future, Tata Motors has unfurled its comprehensive three-phase EV blueprint. Aiming to cater to the dynamic needs of EV enthusiasts, Tata has showcased its futuristic line-up at the Auto Expo 2023, including the Curvv, Harrier EV, Sierra EV, and Avinya. These trailblazing EV models are primed to captivate diverse customer segments. With bolstered charging infrastructures and augmented investments, Tata envisions quelling range anxiety and solidifying India’s EV supply chain.
