Tata Consultancy Services to be official app partner of Canberra marathon till 2026
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its collaboration with the Canberra Times Marathon Festival (CTMF), by extending its role as the presenting and official app partner of the Australian annual marathon until 2026.
Since the inception of the partnership in 2018, Tata Consultancy Services has leveraged its know-how in technology to create the official race app used by both supporters and participants.
The race app is designed to improve running experiences by permitting runners to plot their course and measure their progress using real-time information as well as features such as interactive maps as well as pop-up windows to increase awareness of local indigenous culture by describing 14 historical sites in the lives of Ngunawal people on the 42km course.
As a continuation of the Run for Reconciliation initiative launched the year before, Tata Consultancy Services will continue to inspire First Nations runners as part of its ongoing collaboration in conjunction with the Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF).
The Indian software company will support more than 70 IMF runners from Communities across Indigenous Australia to participate in some of the most prestigious marathons in the world such as City2Surf, CTMF, TCS London and New York marathons.
The Canberra Times Marathon Festival was held on 16 April 2023.
Vikram Singh — Tata Consultancy Services Country Head of Australia and New Zealand said: “We are pleased to extend our partnership with CTMF, and look to continue to inspire local communities to live healthy and active lifestyles. Running a marathon makes you feel like there’s nothing you can’t achieve. With each step, you are building on belief.
“That is exactly how the most successful enterprises execute on their growth and transformation journeys. As the preferred technology partner to leading Australian corporations, TCS keeps looking for innovative ways to leverage next-generation technologies to help them accelerate these journeys and while we are at it, support local communities and establish a strong Connection to Country.”
