Tata Communications to power SanCloud devices with CloudSIM solution
Tata Communications and Oasis Smart SIM, a subsidiary of Tata Communications International, announced that CloudSIM, a cloud-based embedded subscriber identity module (eSIM), will power the SanCloud devices.
According to Tata Communications, CloudSIM will allow SanCloud devices to provide remote control and monitoring capabilities to monitor the operation of industrial equipment and plants across the supply chain, manufacturing, and automotive industries. It will make it easier to deploy across supply chains with different components and will benefit businesses across the globe.
Marc Murphy — SanCloud co-founder and Director of Software Engineering said: “SanCloud is excited about integrating Tata Communications MOVE and CloudSIM services into our mobile wireless devices. This gives us the flexibility to dynamically change the subscription model in our IoT devices without having to send an engineer to site to swap a SIM.”
CloudSIM is delivered through the Tata Communications MOVE platform. It offers on-demand connectivity to cellular networks with greater security and affordable than ever before.
Through the delivery of device integrity and cloud provisioning technology for CloudSIM on the cloud, Tata Communications along with Oasis Smart SIM helps reduce costs and makes it easier to design. This is a change from the conventional method of delivering connectivity as-needed that typically required the use of additional SIMs, ISIMs or eSIMs to be installed using the same hardware, which adds costs and complexity, said Tata Communications.
Avneesh Prakash — Tata Communications Mobility Vice President said: “As products get more intelligent and revenue models become increasingly usage-based, connected devices need to be flexible, intelligent and secure – all at once. CloudSIM and Tata Communications MOVE are enabling this transformation.
“This will be a game changer in the industry, offering a new approach to empower IoT device and equipment manufacturers. We’re excited to enable SanCloud and enhance user experience and reduce operational costs of their products and solutions.”
