Jawaharlal Nehru University has dismissed Congress MP and professor Angomcha Bimol Akoijam after an internal inquiry into sexual harassment complaints by 11 women students. The university says disciplinary procedures were followed, while Akoijam disputes the allegations and characterises the action as politically motivated. The decision concerns university employment, not his parliamentary membership.
