KLM’s 5,000-position overhaul: Can €1bn in earnings gains rescue its margins?
KLM plans to reorganise approximately 5,000 positions through outsourcing, intra-group transfers and workforce reductions as it seeks another €1 billion in annual earnings improvement. Despite stronger quarterly profits, management argues that its existing cost structure cannot adequately fund fleet renewal, operational resilience and future competitiveness.
