Lindian Resources has advanced construction of its Kangankunde rare earths project in Malawi, with electrical infrastructure progressing, processing equipment nearing completion and ore inventories rising 19% since September. The December production target brings the Australian miner closer to commercial operations, although commissioning, logistics and processing performance remain critical tests.

Lindian Resources has secured exclusive rights over 13,389 tonnes of heavy rare-earth-bearing material in Kazakhstan and a 12-month window to assess another 15,000 to 20,000 tonnes. The arrangement could broaden SARECO beyond Kangankunde's light rare earth profile, but metallurgical testing and regulatory approvals must establish whether the stockpile is commercially usable.
